The Board of Trustees of the American Institute for Southeast European Studies condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the strongest possible terms. Putin’s absurd proclamations are an attempt to rewrite history in order to justify this criminal invasion and deny Ukraine’s sovereignty. We stand with the people of Ukraine and all people of eastern Europe who oppose this war.
